It seemed to take ages for the train to arrive and when I thought I heard something I leaned out onto the platform perceive I could see it in the tunnel, and I just toppled over. It was a combination of being tired and having more weight than I'm used to ñ and suddenly I found myself lying in front of the train. To say it was terrifying would be an understatement." But while other passengers at the underground station in the capital Beijing looked on in shock, the train's driver Lei He slammed on the emergency brake and the train screeched to a halt just as it started to pass over Mai. A rail service spokesman said: "I dread to think what would have happened if he had not acted so quickly." Because she squatted down and because of the fact that the track is very so high above the ground, despite the woman's size the train did not injure her, but nevertheless left her trapped underneath until she managed to scramble out and was helped on to the platform. She was hospitalised after her ordeal as a precaution but doctors said the was no damage either to the woman and the baby and gave her the all clear to head home.
