FILEM The Artist tercalon sebanyak enam kategori sekaligus menerima pencalonan terbanyak Anugerah Golden Globes 69 yang akan berlangsung pada 15 Januari ini (Isnin waktu Malaysia) di Los Angeles, Amerika Syarikat.

Antara kategori yang dicalonkan adalah Filem Komedi atau Muzikal, Pelakon Lelaki Filem Komedi atau Muzikal, Pengarah, Lakon Layar dan Skor Muzik Asal Terbaik.

Walaupun terpaksa berdepan dengan saingan terdekat, The Descendants dan The Help, yang masing-masing menerima sebanyak lima pencalonan, filem arahan Michel Hazanavicius itu dijangka menang besar pada acara berprestij itu.

Ini kerana The Artist mempunyai keunikan yang tersendiri selain melangkah arus dengan konsep filem bisu hitam putih yang tidak lagi dihasilkan pada era Hollywood kini.

Walau apapun andaian yang diberi, anugerah tersebut masih lagi memberi debaran besar kepada semua penggiat seni filem Hollywwod yang tidak pernah terlepas daripada kejutan.

Mungkin juga filem The Help mampu meraih kemenangan besar pada acara itu nanti.

Begitu juga dengan Bridesmaids, walaupun hanya menerima dua pencalonan, pengisiannya yang mengisahkan tentang kemelut golongan kulit hitam di Amerika Syarikat pada tahun 1950-an itu turut menarik perhatian ramai.

Sementara itu, filem The Ides of March, Midnight in Paris, dan Moneyball menerima sebanyak empat pencalonan. Manakala filem Albert Nobbs, Hugo, dan My Week with Marilyn menerima tiga pencalonan anugerah.

Selain Bridesmaids, filem 50/50, Carnage, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, War Horse, dan W.E masing-masing menerima dua pencalonan.
